Start a projectThe short version
A business website has to do three things before anything else: load quickly, say clearly what the business does, and make the next step obvious. A surprising number of expensive sites fail at all three.
We design and build from the business outwards — what it sells, who buys it, what they need to see before they enquire — then write the code by hand so the result stays fast and easy to change.
01
Pages, hierarchy and the words come first. We agree what each page is for and what it must say, so design solves a defined problem rather than filling space.
02
Art direction and layout go onto a real staging URL as soon as there is something to look at. You review actual pages on your own phone, not screenshots in a slide deck.
03
Hand-written front-end code with a speed and accessibility budget agreed at the start, and a content setup your team can run without calling a developer.
04
Redirects, structured data, analytics and conversion tracking are checked against test traffic before the switch — not discovered afterwards.
Scope
Exact scope is written down and priced before work starts, so there are no discoveries halfway through.

02
Focused landing pages designed around specific offers, campaigns and conversion goals.

The other capabilities sit alongside this one and are often bought together — a site without traffic, or traffic without a site, only gets you halfway.
Questions
We choose per project rather than by habit, based on who will maintain the site and what it has to do. Where a content system is the right answer we will set one up and hand it over; where a lighter static build serves the business better, we build that. Either way the site is yours, and you are not locked to us.
Yes, and we usually should. Copy written after the design is finished tends to be poured into shapes that do not fit it. We write alongside the layout, from a working session with the people who actually sell.
You own everything and can walk away. If you would rather keep improving it, ongoing work is a separate monthly arrangement covering testing, content and campaigns — never bundled in silently.

One call is usually enough to work out whether this is the right piece of work to start with, and what it would involve.
